One of the true underground hardcore legends in America, Damnation A.D. is resurfacing after an almost eight-year hiatus with the release of their new Victory Records album, In This Life Or The Next. Not only does this D.C.-based band live up to their reputation, but the new blistering sonic attack sounds as sharp and fresh as their original work.

I think I was expecting a bit more from Damnation AD. I mean it has been more than 8 years since their last release and it doesn't seem their style changed much.  It is gutter core with a gritty sound on the crunching guitars and bass. There is a sense of the hardcore punk scene throughout the music with a ferociousness within the musical assault. The problem comes with many of the tracks sounding the same with a garage recording overtone. Overall it is decent but not really my style or taste.  The lyrics are very dark in nature and have the band singing/yelling as they look for death as their only sense of peace.
